I had been concerned about the use of mobile phones for communication when mum and I go to HK next month. Mum has an unlocked Nokia which she can use with a HK sim, but my phones were locked on Vodafone. So I emailed aroudn earlier this week and and received two offers of a sim-free phone which I could borrow for ten days. There are websites around that charge from £20-£30. This morning I asked David Wright what would be the best and cheapest way to unlock my phone for HK use. He asked when my contract ended. I said on 19th March. He said I should try to call up Voda for a code. It should be free, but '3' network is known to charge £25.

I called Voda and spoke to 'Summer' who said she could get unlocking code sent to my email within 72hours!! So it'll be free and I could possibly bring to HK if not, then take Nic or Charlotte's mobiles.

So praise God for providing a way out of another financial situation. =)
Marriott, Payroll and WFA had a meeting where Sheila conducted a prize draw for the female to go to a disco event suitable for girls at The Garage on Thur 13th March. So they could not include the male colleagues of course. We had a separate draw for the five men there: Me, David, Paul, Chris and Aaron. The guy's name picked out will get to accompany the six girls for dinner at Italian Kitchen before the girls go to their event. And my name was picked out!! Whoo-hoo!! Truth be told, when I heard the male winner also gets a crate of beer I was silently thinking to God that I did not want it as I do not drink. I didn't want to win. However, 1 in 5 chances and I still won! So then, really all praise goes to God! =) Hallelujah!

Sheila later came up to ask me if I'd prefer beer, lager or wine. So I told her I'd prefer wine. I think it is more 'classier' and it 'better for the body' =) AND I get to finish at 4:30pm on Thursday! =)

As if yesterday's phone blessing was not enough, I came home from work to find a jiffy bag with solid objects inside it. Had a feeling it may have been the Mach 3 M3 Power shaving blades I bought from eBay just before Christmas. It was!!! How amazing is that!

Just before Christmas I won 24 Gillette M3 Power blades for £16.70 or so and I sent a cheque away. It was cashed and seller said he'll send blades out soon, after Christmas delay etc. I waited for a few weeks and realised he started to receive negative comments from other buyers stating that he take money but does not send out goods. I filed complaint through dispute console for unsent item. He complained against me for unpaid item. Later I closed dispute and passed matter over to eBay safety / complaints and after a while he was no longer a registered user. That was about 4-5 weeks ago and through this time I had decided to give up and just look for blades once I return from HK or something.

Well, today's testimony just shows that God is just and that I didn't have to do anything to get what I deserved. God is for me, who can be against me? Hallelujah!!!

Called Vodafone customer service after talking to Vodafone shop a few times regarding Sony Ericsson W960i which they said would cost £100 because it is a new phone and also according to my current bills etc.

Heidi advised it would cost me £100 on 18 months, or free on 24 months or £50 contract. When I didn't like it she passed me through to Customer Service dept; connected to Jamile.

Jamile advised £100 for 18 months contract, then went away to speak to manager and came back to say he could sell me phone for £30. I was still unhappy with it and haggled for unlimited texts. He then suddenly changed and said he could do me the phone for FREE and it'll be on my current tariff and conditions. I was amazed at that and arrnaged for it to be delivered to my office.

After the call I was still in shock and surprised but quickly remember that this was all due to the glory of God. His Grace & Favour upon me. All I had to do was believe! =)

Wanna thank God for His blessings on several occasions as I was out with Grace today.

We were having lunch at Subway and after we finished eating out 6-inch sandwiches, we realised someone left behind another 6-inch Subway on the same bench as the one we sat at. So Grace and I shared it. It was cold but it did indeed help to fill us up as we were quite hungry after the gym.

Later we went to Savoy Centre to get my watch repaired. The top clip of my watch had been protruding out for a while and catches on my clothing sometimes. I expected to pay a few pounds to have it tightened up by the guys. However, the man who took my watch, tightened it, spoke to the boss and advised it was free of charge! I was so happy! Thank God for His many blessings!

08 January 2008

First entry of 2008, and it is one to record down what a just God He is. For the past 4.5 month I started receiving text messages from 80708. These texts would advertise latest ringtones etc and is stuff I just delete. But upon checking my phonebills I realise I was getting charged £1.50 for each 'Text Info Service'.

The latest two arrived 21st and 28th Dec, both around same time and when I was in the cinema. So on Wed 2nd Jan I called Voda and was given a number for MBlox Ltd who told me they send out texts for Mocon Digital. Mocon apologised and tookmy contact details inc. address for refund.

Unfort on Fri 4th Jan I received another text from them! So I called to complain yesterday and emailed through inc all the other text messages I've been charged in previous months. Total came to £10.49. Mocon called twice to apologise and advised they'll send out postal order to refund me and remove my number from their system.

Today I received a letter from Mocon Digital apologising for charging me for those texts and gave me postal order for £10.50. This'll come in handy. I'll cash it in and can use towards Ming's birthday dinner. =) Praise God!
